Mena Art Gallery

Non-profit gallery whose mission is to bring art to the people of area and to provide a place for local artists to display their work for tourists to see and purchase. Fiften different shows a year are offered; hours are noon to 3 p.m. daily except Monday and Wednesday.   It is located in the beautiful historic downtown across from a theatre and surrounded by a coffee house, antique and collectible stores.

Fiber Arts Show and Sale

New for this year is the Fiber Arts Show and Sale. This will be an exhibit of all those beautiful crafts that your grandmother excelled in or are still being created. It is a cooperative effort with local quilting and embroidery clubs The reception will be March 2 from 1- 3 PM. Call the gallery for more information at 479-394-3880.

Children's Show

Children’s Show will be March 19th to April 2nd – Featuring art by children. This special judged show is open to all children under high school age and all are welcome to enter their work. Reception held March 30th.

20th Annual High School Show

When:  Wednesday, April 02, 2008

Time: 10:00:00 AM

Southwest Artists is again sponsoring the High School Show where all High School age students are invited to show their works of art. Call the gallery for more information at 394-3880. Show begins April 2 to April 16 with the reception on April 6th.

Garrison Invitational

When:  Thursday, April 17, 2008

Time: 10:00:00 AM

Featuring work of Bill and Gloria Garrison. Reception is April 27th with the show running from April 17th through April 29th.

Native American Show

When:  Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Time: 10:00:00 AM

Native American Show: April 30th to May 28th. Mena Art Gallery will honor the traditional and modern cultures of the American Indians with a display of artifacts, contemporary productions, and everything in between. Reception May 18th. Call the gallery for more details.

Summer Open Show

Photography Show

With digital processes making photography cheaper every day, this show is one of our most popular. The exhibit will be on display through September 10th with the Reception on August 3rd.

Wheels (cycles, cars, bikes,anything with wheels)

When:  Wednesday,September 10, 2008

Time: 10:00:00 AM

Wheels (cycles, cars, bikes,etc) September 10 to Oct 8 – Theme show featuring motorcycles, antique cars, bikes, or anything with wheels as the subject; any media, any ages. All entries must have a "Wheels" theme: two dimensional work must include a wheel subject of some type; three-dimensional work must also include some form of wheel subject. Reception will be September 14.

Ouachita Studio Tour Exhibit

The Artists of the Ouachita Studio Tour will have their art on display at the gallery. Come by and see what the tour is all about. Dates for the exhibit will be from October 9, 2008 through October 15th, 2008. The tour is running from October 10th, 11th and 12th, 2008.

The beauty of the region and the simpler lifestyle has attracted artists from all over to settle in the Ouachitas where they find quiet and inspiration for their creativity. This year's art trail has some great artists, some well known around the state, the country, and even around the world. To follow the Ouachita Art Trail, guests will begin at the Mena Art Gallery, on 607 Mena Street, across from the Ouachita Little Theater, where you will pick up the maps and directories.

Ouachita Expressions

Ouachita Expressions: October 15 to November 26-- The Premier Fall Art Show. The reception held on October 19th is a wonderful opportunity to greet the participating artists and discuss their works, so bring a friend and enjoy the show. With both 2D and 3D fine arts media including photography and computer generated work, the show promises to be an interesting and eclectic mix of the finest works of the region.
